Activities during Even Semester 2014 - 2015

Centre for Social Action ACTIVITY

The Centre for Social Action (CSA) student volunteers and the faculties of civil engineering department visited BasavaGangotri orphanage and old age home located near Kumbalgodu, Mysore Road on 6th December 2014 as part of the department CSA activity. The Care taker of the orphanage and also Prof. Raghunandan Kumar spoke words of wisdom to the children of the orphanage. The department donated stationery items and chocolates to the children and fruits to the senior citizens. The CSA student volunteers and faculties involved in lot of recreational activities like football and volleyball with the orphan childern and prizes were distributed to the winners.

GUEST LECTURE ON REVIT ARCHITECTURE

On 10th January 2015, The Department of Civil Engineering in association with M/s MEDINI, Bangalore conducted a Guest Lecture on “Latest trends in building design – Autodesk Revit Architecture”. The Speaker was Mr. Pradeep Kallur, Director for Education program M/sMedini. He spoke about the advantages of Revit Architecture software in the field of architecture and civil engineering. He also demonstrated how the tool can be used to create a walk through plan, which can be of great help for civil engineers who are interested to work in the planning and Quantity Surveying.

GUEST LECTURE ON PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT

On 30th January 2015, The Department of Civil engineering organized a guest lecture on Personality development. The speaker was Mr. JalallHossiney, who is the Head of Glory Personality Development Institute, Kolhapur, Maharashtra. He spoke about the importance of communication skill and the importance of personality for succeeding in one’s career and personal life. It was a very interactive session where the students and the speaker were involved in discussing real life situations and how personality development will help them in handling such situations.

TEAM LUNCH

On 31st January 2015, The Faculties of Department of Civil Engineering went out for a team lunch to Swathi Restaurant, Nagarabhavi, Bangalore as part of team bonding activity. The faculties had a good time interacting with their colleagues as part of team building exercise.
