The School of Education, Christ (deemed to be University) organised the Annual Sports Meet 2019 on 23 February 2018 at Kengeri campus, with an aim to uphold the spirit of competition, participation and sportsmanship.
The day started off with the assembly of the six teams in the summer heat, the White Tigers, Black Jaguars,Yellow lions,Blue Whales,Red bulls and Grey Rhinos , followed by the Oath taken by Sherly Rebeka and Dion Sahni, the sports representatives.
We all solemnly pledged to uphold the spirit of true sportsmanship. The inaugural speaker for the day was the principal of Christ PU residential. Kengeri, Dr. (Fr.)Thomas Mangara.
There were three professional referees from Karnataka Athletic Association, two of them took charge of the track events, which were 50m,100m,200m, 400m, sack race, three-legged race and 4*50 mixed relay and the third referee took charge of the field events, which were, long jump, shot-put, discus throw, and also a senior v/s junior volleyball match for boys and throwball match for girls. Seniors boys winning the volleyball and junior girls winning throwball.
All the students from the different teams participated enthusiastically. The day was filled with exciting victories and near misses for all the houses. Sudha and Rajesh were the Female champion of the year and male champion of the year respectively. The Rolling trophy for the most points was awarded to the Yellow Lions. The day ended with laughter, joy , aches, first aid, medals, certificates and trophies.
