CHRIST (Deemed to be University) is rooted in a legacy shaped by its motto, Excellence and Service, and inspired by the life and vision of Saint Kuriakose Elias Chavara. As an institution founded on the principles of education, ethics, and social responsibility, CHRIST has continually sought to respond meaningfully to the needs of society through thoughtful academic engagement.
From its beginnings as Christ College to its growth as a multidisciplinary, multi-campus Deemed to be University, the journey of CHRIST has been one of steady and purposeful evolution. This progress has been made possible through the grace of the Almighty and the committed efforts of generations of leaders, faculty members, Administrative staff, students, and alumni who have contributed to building a strong and resilient institution.
As we mark sixteen years as a university, we are also privileged to engage with the CMI Year of Education, a period of reflection that invites us to renew our commitment to education as a transformative and service-oriented mission. This moment encourages us to look inward, strengthen our foundations, and reaffirm the values that guide our academic and institutional practices.
In recent years, CHRIST has taken several important steps to expand access, relevance, and flexibility in higher education. The introduction of Online Degree Programmes reflects our effort to respond to changing learner needs while maintaining academic integrity, quality, and learner support. Alongside this, the University has continued to strengthen multidisciplinary learning, research engagement, international academic collaborations, and alignment with the National Education Policy.
Our focus remains on nurturing a culture of curiosity, critical thinking, ethical responsibility, and social sensitivity. We seek to create learning environments that encourage inquiry, dialogue, and innovation, while remaining grounded in human values and societal concerns.
