A workshop on APA Citation Style was held for the MPhil students of the Department of English on 01February 2017 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Room 119, Block 4 at CHRIST (Deemed to be University). The resource person was Dr. Rolla Das, Asst. Professor, CHRIST (Deemed to be University). Dr. Das also works with the Centre for Publication, CHRIST (Deemed to be University).
Dr. Das began the session by enumerating a list of items which have to be cited if used within an academic paper.
The session was relevant as the instructor gave both theoretical and practical inputs as to how to cite materials as diverse as articles, images, video and audio clippings. Students were acquainted with the basic requirements of in-text citation and works cited sections in APA style.
Dr. Das also made the students do a few exercises related to the citation format.
She summed up with a checklist of items to be followed while submitting a paper in the aforesaid formatting style.
The session was concluded at 6.30 P.M.
