OBJECTIVE:
To encourage students to gain knowledge on Mobile Application Development using IONIC Framework
POSSIBLE LEARNING OUTCOMES:
1. To build Mobile Applications using IONIC.
2. To apply the concepts of IONIC in real time systems development.
SUMMARY:
Day 1 started off on a slow pace due to delay in installation and distribution of the prerequisite software. The installations included the Ionic Cordova, Visual Code and Node JS the said software took most of the first session. There were some large files which took a long time to download and internet speed was a huge hindrance. The workshop was concluded for the day with the participants being given a glimpse of the application that they were going to develop inthe following sessions.
Day 2
Day 2 saw the number of participants dropping by twenty yet the present group was very eager to learn and the session began with the participants downloading the resources provided to makethe application. Then the participants were taught how to edit the code for the application on theVisual Code IDE, where they were given a basic introduction to html coding as well as basicknowledge about CSS. Followed by which they were instructed how to develop a basic application to find the value of a polynomial. The application was successfully made by majorityof the participants the ones who could not manage the task were later helped and the end productwas that the entire crowd managed to develop the application.
Day 3
Day 3 saw the participants developing a more complicated application to find and display the latitude and longitude of their current location. The participants rose to the challenge and managed to finish the task, the basic resource file was provided to them and all the links pertaining to the download of the relevant material was also shared. The session ended with a short question answer session followed by a feedback session, after which photographs were taken and the workshop concluded 6 pm on the 26thJuly.
In conclusion, this report would like to state that the workshop was in overall a success; the participants exuded an overall feeling pleasure and gratitude, albeit a few setbacks. It seemed to be well managed, and time delays were kept to a minimum. After sessions the participants had healthy debates on the field of application development which was a promising sign. The organizing team was pleasantly surprised to enthusiastic feedback from the participants and their potential to become great app developers.
