Department of Basic Sciences and Humanities conducted a quality improvement program (QIP)   for all its faculty members on 20-22 of January 2014. Prof. Anirban Roy was the coordinator for Mathematics while Dr. John Kiran was the coordinator for Physics, Chemistry and Professional Development.

The sessions were organized by using resource persons available internally and externally. The QIP program began with an introductory talk by Dr. A.V.Vijayasankar , Coordinator – Basic Sciences and Humanities. The inaugural session was delivered by Dr. ValsanChandy, followed by a talk on Analytical and numerical methods by Prof. Anirban Roy. Dr. Arun Kumar gave a hands-on experience on Mathematica&numerical computation.

Dr. Manjunath from B.N.M. I. T. Bangalore conducted three sessions for mathematics on the topic of fluid dynamics. Mr. Narayana Sharma from Photonics India, Bangalore, conducted a session on ‘Advanced research techniques in material science’ for physics and chemistry streams.
