This monograph throws light on the growing Indian foundry industry. India currently ranks among the 10 major casting producing countries in the world, fuelled by an explosive growth in the Indian auto component industry. 80% of the foundry units in India fall under the category of small and mid size enterprises with a combined output of Rs 44,000.00 crores. An important aspect of foundry industry in India is its geographical clustering with a rich dominance in South India.
This work explores the problems and export prospects for ferrous and non-ferrous castings as well as ready to use or semi-finished components in the face of stiff global competition. It does a detailed market analysis for export, including getting technical assistance, export marketing training, European market access requirements, environment guidelines and other necessary requirements to make a major Indian presence in as yet unexplored markets.
