Academic Leadership Retreat 2026 - 27

Theme: Institutional Excellence through Strategic Leadership and Collaborative Planning
Date: 3–4 August 2026
Venue: Aldovia Resort, Bengaluru

The Leadership Retreat 2026–27, organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), brought together the University's senior academic and administrative leadership for two days of strategic reflection, dialogue, and collaborative planning.

The Retreat focused on strengthening academic rigour, student development, institutional quality, strategic innovation, and future-ready leadership. Sessions explored the T-shaped graduate framework, academic vision and disciplinary excellence, the evolving NAAC 3.0 framework, institutional strategic priorities, and emerging global trends shaping higher education. Panel discussions provided a platform for leaders to deliberate on graduate competencies, institutional challenges, and the University's strategic aspirations for the coming decade.

A key highlight was the Strategic Innovation Workshop, which encouraged participants to translate institutional aspirations into actionable priorities through collaborative problem-solving, innovation frameworks, and forward-looking planning.

The Retreat concluded with reflections on building high-performing teams grounded in trust, shared purpose, continuous learning, collaboration, and collective accountability, reinforcing the University's commitment to its Vision of Excellence and Service.

CHRIST (Deemed to be University) organised the Academic Leadership Retreat in July 2025 at the Bangalore Yeshwanthpur Campus, in continuation of the retreat held earlier at the Bangalore Kengeri Campus. The retreat brought together senior leadership and academic heads to strengthen institutional leadership capacity and align with strategic priorities.
Centred on the theme “Leadership for the Next Level of Growth,” the programme focused on strategic planning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and enhancing academic excellence. Key discussions addressed priority areas for institutional growth, while university support centres presented initiatives to strengthen teaching, research, and community engagement.
The retreat also enabled schools and campuses to identify opportunities for innovation, research development, and collaboration. A mid-year review was conducted in December to assess progress, with further evaluations planned to ensure sustained momentum in quality enhancement and leadership development.
