To strengthen accessibility across the institution, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) has undertaken a comprehensive Accessibility Audit to evaluate physical infrastructure, digital platforms, and academic and administrative processes. The audit seeks to identify barriers, promote inclusive practices, and support the development of a barrier-free campus that caters to the diverse needs of students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
As part of its commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable campus environment, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), CHRIST (Deemed to be University), conducted a comprehensive Accessibility Audit during March–May 2026 in collaboration with Eco Paradigm–Paradigm Environmental Strategies (P) Ltd.
The audit assessed accessibility across physical infrastructure, digital platforms, and academic and administrative processes to identify barriers and opportunities for improvement. Areas reviewed included campus buildings, pathways, restrooms, signage, transportation facilities, websites, learning management systems, student support services, admissions, examinations, and classroom practices.
A dedicated internal committee comprising representatives from the Centre for Counselling & Health Services, IT Services, Facility Management, and the Office of Security supported the audit process and facilitated stakeholder consultations and evidence collection. Aligned with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act, 2016, UGC guidelines, and national accessibility standards, the initiative aims to strengthen inclusive education and ensure equitable access for all stakeholders. The findings and recommendations of the audit will guide the University in enhancing accessibility standards and developing a more barrier-free, safe, and user-friendly learning environment. Through this initiative, the University reaffirms its commitment to accessibility, inclusivity, and continuous quality enhancement.
