The Green Audit is a systematic evaluation of the University’s environmental practices, resource utilisation, and sustainability initiatives. Coordinated by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), the audit reflects the institution’s commitment to promoting environmental responsibility, efficient resource management, and sustainable campus development. It serves as a key mechanism to assess current practices, identify areas for improvement, and strengthen eco-friendly policies across campuses.
The Green Audit for the academic year 2024–25 was conducted across multiple campuses of CHRIST (Deemed to be University) by an external agency, Eco Energime Engineers LLP, in coordination with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). The audit covered key campuses including Bangalore Central, Bannerghatta Road, Yeshwanthpur, and Kengeri, and was carried out during the academic year 2024–25 through a structured on-site evaluation and documentation review process.
From an IQAC perspective, the audit aimed to assess and enhance environmental sustainability practices across the institution. The scope of the audit included water management, energy conservation, waste management, green campus initiatives, and environmental sustainability practices, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of resource utilisation and eco-friendly infrastructure. The methodology involved site inspections, stakeholder interactions, policy reviews, and analysis of existing systems such as sewage treatment plants, renewable energy installations, and waste segregation mechanisms.
Based on the recommendations provided, the University has undertaken significant measures to strengthen its sustainability practices, including improved resource efficiency, expansion of renewable energy usage, enhanced waste management systems, and better utilisation of treated water. These initiatives have contributed to the development of a more environmentally responsible campus ecosystem, reinforcing the University’s commitment to sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and long-term environmental stewardship.
