As part of World Mental Health Day 2026, themed “Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change,” the Centre for Counselling and Health Services (CCHS) organised the Mindshift Series to promote mental health awareness, emotional well-being, peer support, and help-seeking among students.
The series featured a range of engaging and experiential activities, including a Mental Health Café-themed awareness stall, mental health awareness quizzes, recreational activities, a Trust Chain peer-support activity, flash mobs by peer educators, and brief classroom awareness sessions encouraging students to seek support during challenging times. The awareness stall witnessed participation from around 250 students, creating an interactive space for conversations around mental health.
The series also included a Yoga and Guided Meditation session with Progressive Muscle Relaxation (JPMR) for UG and PG students, focusing on mindful breathing, relaxation, body awareness, and practical self-care strategies that students could incorporate into their daily routines.
A special Mental Health Awareness Programme for Law students was also organised by the Peer Education Team on 11 September 2026 at the School of Law. Through music, interactive games, an Affirmation Bowl, awareness bookmarks, a photo booth, and peer interactions, the programme encouraged positive self-expression, reduced stigma, and highlighted the counselling and support services available at the University.
Overall, the Mindshift Series created multiple opportunities for students to pause, connect, reflect, and engage in conversations around mental health, reinforcing the importance of emotional well-being, peer support, mindfulness, and timely help-seeking within the university community.
