The Life Science Association had organized a guest lecture on “Career opportunities in clinical research” for the post graduate students of the Department of Life Sciences on the 10th of November 2017 from 1.30 PM to 4.30 PM in Block II, Central Campus , CHRIST (Deemed to be University). The welcome speech was given by Aiswarya of first  year MSc Biotechnology. Dr Swapnil Jankar, Assistant Manager, Professional Training, of Cytel Statistical Software and Services Pvt Ltd started the talk with a brief introduction of Cytel and went on to highlight the various career prospects in the field of clinical development and services along with operations research and trial implementation.

Dr Swapnil went on to motivate the students to learn statistical tools like SAS and SPSS to increase demand in job market. With the concept of demand and supply, he encouraged the students to diversify their skill sets in order to meet the demands of the evergrowing market and improve employability. Different career pathways available for students with life science background and the impact of statistical tools were brought to their notice. Dr Suma S, Coordinator of Life Science Association, presented a memento to Dr Swapnil. The vote of thanks was proposed by Gayathri of first year MSc Biotechnology.
