The Department of Commerce, CHRIST (Deemed to be University)’s BSc (Accountancy and Analytics) Integrated Masters programme in association with Virginia Commonwealth University, USA, is an ‘Academic Acceleration Programme' carefully designed for ambitious learners who after their undergraduate programme aspire to fast track their academic journey and aim for a greater level accomplishment (Honours) in addition to an overseas educational experience (Masters) within four years. 

This three-plus one-year programme in Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and Analytics has come to light by more than a decade long-lasting partnership between CHRIST (Deemed to be University) and Virginia Commonwealth University (www.vcu.edu) to facilitate a cost-effective integrated Masters programme in four years with a lucrative post qualification job permit. 

In comparison to the traditional route of pursuing a Masters degree from a foreign University after completing undergraduate studies in India, this unique integrated Master’s programme offers a competitive cost advantage stemming from the extensive experience gained through the partnership between the two universities and their expertise in delivering the integrated +1 programme. 
 

The student enrolled in the programme of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and Analytics shall complete three years of the undergraduate programme at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore Central Campus, and for the fourth year, the student shall study overseas with Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Richmond, Virginia, USA and shall earn Post graduate degree in “Master of Accountancy (M.ACC.), concentration in Data Analytics or Master of Decision Analytics (MDA), concentration in Accounting Analytics.  
Students who successfully complete the three plus one integrated Master’s programme shall be awarded the BSc (Accountancy and Analytics) (Honours) degree from CHRIST University, Bangalore, in addition to the respective post graduate degree awarded by VCU.         

The BSc (Accountancy and Analytics) programme prepares students for a wide array of career opportunities in the ever-evolving financial and business landscape cutting across emerging fields of Accounting, Auditing, Decision making and Data Analytics. To process admission

  • Candidates must choose the preferred date and time from available options to facilitate a smooth admission process.
  • Admission must be processed at the campus where the programme is offered as published in the offer of admission.
  • As per UGC guidelines, fee payment has to be made through online mode.
  • Payment options and details will be available in the offer of admission.
  • Fees for the first year including Admission Registration fee must be paid in full as part of the admission process.

All original marks cards and one set of photocopies must be submitted for verification at the time of admission as mentioned below

  • Class 10 Marks Statement and Class 11/12 Marks Statement (Mandatory).
  • Transfer Certificate (TC) of Class 12 from the last qualified institution must be submitted by 30 August 2024 (Mandatory).
  • Migration Certificate of Class 12 (applicable for all candidates except Karnataka state board applicants) must be submitted by 30 August 2024 (Mandatory).
  • One Stamp size and one passport size photograph formal dress with a white background (Mandatory).
  • Two Copies of the Online Payment Acknowledgment (Mandatory).
  • Copy of valid ID proof (Aadhar Card and PAN Card).
  • Candidates falling under any of these categories (NRI / PIO / OCI / SAARC / AFRICA / ASEAN / OTHER FOREIGN NATIONALS) have to submit:
  1. Copy of Passport and Visa Details (Mandatory).
  2. PIO / OCI have to produce a copy of the PIO / OCI card whichever is applicable (Mandatory).
  3. Medical Fitness Certificate (MFC) from any recognized medical practitioner certified by the Medical Council of India and
  4. Resident Permit (RP) (If available while applying)

All mandatory documents must be submitted for verification during the admission process.

An undertaking for pending original documents unavailable currently [applicable only for candidates writing/passing their exam in March – June - 2024], must be submitted to the Office of Admissions. These documents must be submitted on or before 30 August 2024.

  • Failure to submit the pending documents will be treated as unsuccessful in the qualifying examination or considered “Not Eligible”, and admission will be terminated from CHRIST (Deemed to be University) without any claim.
  • All admitted students must open an account at South Indian Bank, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Branch as part of the admission process and must carry relevant ID proof (Aadhar Card and Pan Card).
  • The University ID card is a smart card, which is both an ID cum ATM card with a chip containing the student personal details. All transactions within the University campus after the commencement of classes, including fee payment, will be processed only through this card. It is also an access card for Library and other restricted places.
  • Selected candidates who fall under International student category (ISC) should register with the Foreigner Regional Registration Officer (FRRO / FRO) of the Local Police in Bengaluru, India within 14 working days from the date of admission or arriving in Bengaluru.

The date of commencement of the academic Year 2024 will be intimated during the admission process.

Please Note:

  • The University does not collect any capitation/donation other than the fees mentioned on the website.
  • All those admitted to the programme will have to purchase a laptop at their own cost if required by the department.
  • Admitted students who wish to avail bank loan will be provided with a recommendation letter on request by presenting the original fee paid receipt to the Office of Admissions.
  • The decision of the admission committee is final and binding.

 

Candidates falling under any of the below mentioned categories must apply under the International Student Category:

  1. Foreign citizens,   
  2. PIO card holders and   
  3. OCI (Dual Citizens)

International students coming from Non-English speaking countries should:

  • produce evidence of passing the qualifying examination in English medium or   
  • have IELTS 6.0 with no sub-score below 5.5 or TOEFL (paper) 550, TOEFL (computer) of 213 or TOEFL (IBT) of 79 scores

Candidates without the above pre-qualifications will have to enroll either for

  • Intensive Certificate course in English Language (Full Time) conducted from March to May each year or   
  • One Semester Certificate course in English Language (Part Time) conducted after regular class hours from June to December.

Note: The International Student category fee structure is binding for the full duration of the programme and cannot be transferred /changed in between.

Candidates from the above listed categories having pursued Indian Educational qualification and who may have applied under the Indian States Category will have to pay the International Student Category Fee. The decision of the Admission committee is final.

Candidates seeking admission through International Student category (Foreign Nationals/PIO/OCI) will have a separate application process, with the following options to apply for any programme at Christ University.

Students who fall under any of the following classifications can apply under NRI Student category and be liable to pay the fees applicable to the category for the entire duration of the programme

1. NRI defined under the Indian Income Tax Law

2. Either of the parents is outside India (except Nepal) on Work Permit / Resident Permit.

3. Indian citizen financed by any Institution / agency outside India, even if parents are Residents of India.

4. Indian Citizen who has pursued studies for qualifying examination in any foreign / Indian syllabus outside India..

5. NRI fee is applicable for the full duration of the programme for candidates who;
   5.1. Have pursued and completed their last qualifying exam from outside India.
   5.2. Are NRI and candidates who have applied under NRI category

 

Admission to all programmes is based on academic achievement and CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Selection Process. Candidates should submit the final results of class 12 on or before August 30th of the admission year.

Applicants must read through the Selection process, Fee Structure and other details under the preferred programme given on our website before proceeding with the application process.

  • The University does not collect any type of Capitation / Donation other than the fee mentioned in the website.
  • If the Application is incomplete or incorrect, the University Management has the right to reject it.
  • Kindly do not send any original marks cards through post or courier.
  • All selected candidates must note that admission is provisional and subject to University rules.
  • Ignorance of the Terms, Conditions, and guidelines will not be considered as an excuse for non-fulfillment of any stipulated process.
  • It is to be noted that though the fee is fixed for 2 years, there will be a periodic nominal increase to meet the rise in costs.
  • Fees should be paid within the stipulated date for the first year and before the commencement of final examinations of the 2nd semester, 4th Semester, 6th Semester, and 8th Semester for the consecutive years.

Applicants may apply online for the programme from 8th December 2023 on the University website till the date of applications officially closing.
 
Applications for each programme will close approximately a week before the scheduled selection process.
 
All applicants must visit the page: https://app.christuniversity.in and register by entering NAME (as printed on Class 10 Marks Card), EMAIL-ID and set a password.  (The email id and mobile number provided will be used for sending confirmation and application status-update messages). An applicant can apply for as many programmes using the same ID as long as the prescribed eligibility criteria for the specific programme is fulfilled.
Applicants must have the following documents before filling the application online:
  • Copy of statement of marks of class 10 and class 11 final report or class 12 Board result (Mandatory).
  • Fill in all the details in the “detailed application” page. Scan and upload a recent passport size photograph (3.5 cms x 4.5 cms formal dress with white background not more than 100 kb) and click “Submit”. On clicking Submit, a viewable and editable page will appear on the screen. In case you need to make any corrections; you may edit the data/details and then click “Confirm Submission”.
  • Applicants will have an option to choose the selection process venue and date, before making the payment for the application.
  • Payment may be made through card/UPI/net banking. After successful payment, click on submit. A 9 (Nine) digit Application number will be generated. If unable to print the application form due to system/power/internet failure, logon to https://app.christuniversity.in, under the “Application Status” page enter the registered Email-ID and password to view and print the application form.
(After payment if you do not receive the 9 (Nine) digit application number, then your application process is incomplete, and payment will go in for refund process. The refund will take about 15 working days and must be checked with your bank).

CREDIT STRUCTURE OF THE PROGRAMME
The programme comprises adequate credits as per the norms of Christ (Deemed to be University) in line with the NEP requirements promulgated by University Grants Commission (UGC). Undergraduate courses can be completed in three years of full-time study at CHRIST University, Bangalore Central Campus, to acquire desired credit points. Students, after completing their 3-year undergraduate programme at CHRIST (Deemed to be  University), are duly eligible to continue their postgraduate programme in Master of Accountancy or Master of Decision Analytics offered by the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Virginia, Richmond, USA. Completing the fourth year at VCU will allow the students to earn the BSc (Accountancy and Analytics Honours) degree from CHRIST and a Master’s degree from VCU, also act as a catalyst in enriching the advanced knowledge and skills in Accountancy and Analytics, which will be a pioneer in preparing the students for the Accountancy, Analytics and other allied professional certifications namely Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

 

WHO SHOULD JOIN THE PROGRAMME? 
The program is ideal for prospective students interested in pursuing a promising career in Accountancy and Analytics and those who wish to pursue their education at foreign universities. The programme equips the students with the technical, analytical and communication skills that are highly demanded in the present global job market. Eligibility for the programme is a pass with a minimum of 70% at the +2 level (Karnataka PUC / ISC / CBSE / State Boards) from the streams of Commerce, Science, Arts and Humanities from any recognised Board in India. Candidates writing the +2 examinations in March-May 2024 may apply with their class X and XI marks. Students pursuing an International curriculum must note that eligibility is according to AIU stipulations: Applicants pursuing IB curriculum must have 3 HL and 3 SL with 24 credits. Applicants pursuing GCE / Edexcel must have a minimum of 3 A levels with a grade not less than C.

It is to be noted that though the fee is fixed for four years, there may be a periodic nominal increase to meet the rise in costs.
 
1. NRI fee is applicable for the first year for candidates who have studied foreign syllabus (has to be approved by UGC / AIU) in the qualifying examination of study in India. In subsequent years Other Indian States fee will be applicable.
(The above condition is not applicable to NRI and candidates applied under NRI Category).
 
2. NRI fee is applicable for the full duration of the Programme for candidates who;
    2.1. Have pursued and completed their last qualifying exam from outside India.
    2.2. Are NRI and candidates who have applied under the NRI category.
 
3. To claim the Indian category fee, the candidates should have studied last 7 years in India. (Not applicable for OCI, PIO and Foreign Nationals).
 
4. Admission registration fee of INR 5000/- is non-refundable in the event of cancellation of admission. This fee will be apart from cancellation charges if applicable.
 
5. All Candidates If “Selected” after appearing for the final selection process, the fee may be paid through the following option:
  • Payment can be made through Net banking / NEFT / RTGS
  • Payment / Transfer of fees does not guarantee admission.

The programme “Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and Analytics'' has a diligently crafted curriculum that covers topics such as Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Taxation, Auditing, Business Analytics, Data Mining, Predictive Modelling and Decision Making in a three-plus one-year horizon. Special attention has been given to the consideration of the fourth-year program structure offering courses in Accounting and Analytics. The M.ACC programme provides one year of Optional Practical Training (OPT), paving the way for international internship /placement opportunities with Big Four accounting and auditing firms, regional firms, nonprofit organizations and government organizations in the USA. On the other hand, MDA is a STEM category degree that provides students with three years of Optional Practical Training (OPT), enabling international internships and placements in the USA.
