Knowledge for Change Hub Christ University
Community Engagement and Learning
Since Fall 2020, Christ University has been a designated Knowledge for Change (K4C) hub, integrating service learning into its core values of 'Excellence and Service'. The university employs Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) to:
- Sensitise students to community engagement ethics
- Foster learning from indigenous community knowledge
- Promote reciprocal learning and credit communities for their insights
This initiative is led by Dr. Sharon Valarmathi and Kishore Selva Babu, K4C mentors trained in CBPR in Malaysia.
Christ University's Centre for Service Learning (CSL) focuses on:
- Holistic student development
- Community engagement
- Empowering community service-learning initiatives
- Organising capacity-building workshops for students and faculty
Competency Training Programme
The Competency Training Programme is designed for core leaders, including:
- Student leaders
- Faculty members from various departments and institutions
The programme aims to nurture socially responsible leaders who can drive impactful change.
