CLARE is one of its kind industry-academia collaboration between CHRIST (Deemed to be University) and LabourNet to produce knowledge about the informal economy and the labour markets in India.
CLARE aims at advancing practice-oriented research directed towards LabourNet’s vision of training 10 lakh people by 2022. It operates beyond the scope of disciplinary boundaries of business, economics or sociology, thus finding a perfect place to fit in our interdisciplinary campus.

CLARE is housed at the School of Business Studies and Social Sciences of CHRIST (Deemed to be University). A private institution established in 1969 and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with A grade, it has consistently ranked among the top private universities in India.
The School is known for the interdisciplinary nature of its programs and offers various honours and triple major programs across disciplines like economics, psychology, political science, media studies and English. The collaboration also aims to contribute to the learning of the student community at CHRIST (Deemed to be University) by organising lectures by experts and service-learning program.
LabourNet
LabourNet Services India Pvt. Ltd. is a social enterprise based in Bangalore with a clear focus on enabling livelihoods and improving real income wages of the informal sector by improving worker skills and productivity.
Labournet believes that skill development is not a one-time activity but a continuous process and that every individual should have an opportunity to better education and better livelihoods.
LabourNet’s multi-pronged model focuses on differing training requirements for casual workers, manual labourers, housewives, high-level technical experts and entrepreneurs. Work-integrated training ensures that individuals learn while they continue to earn.
