1. Orientation for applicants Date will be updated (Online Video Conferencing) on 29 November, 2023
2. Entrance Test and Skill Assessment on 2 December 2023 (On Respective Campuses)
3. Research Proposal presentation and Personal Interview on 2 December 2023 (On Respective Campuses) as per your E-Admit Card OR has announced by the office of admissions (After the Entrance Test and Skill Assessment is completed)
CHRIST follows University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D Degrees) new Regulations, and the subsequent Amendments.
CHRIST (Deemed to be University) offers PhD in Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences, Commerce, Management, Engineering and Law in full-time mode.
Eligibility for PhD
The minimum eligibility of candidates intending to pursue a doctoral programme is a pass with a minimum of 55% in the postgraduate programme in the discipline/specialization. Students who have completed their post-graduation from an international university must submit an equivalency certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
The selection process for PhD comprises of Entrance Examination, Research Skill Assessment and Personal Interview. *However, as per the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degrees) new Regulations, those who qualify UGC-NET (including JRF) / UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF) / SLET / GATE / teacher fellowship holder (KSET, SET etc.) or have passed M.Phil Programme shall be exempted from the Entrance Examination and take only a Research Skill Assessment Test along with their Personal Interview.
Note
Candidates who have qualified UGC-NET (including JRF)/UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/SLET/GATE/ teacher fellowship holder (KSET, SET etc.) or have passed M.Phil Programme may apply for PhD programme online, and send the Research Proposal and CV to phd@christuniversity.in any time of the year.
For such candidates, the Research Skill Assessment and Personal Interview will be held separately. Application is to be submitted online using the current format.
