Dr Manas K. Kanjilal serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Media Studies. He is affiliated with CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Yeshwanthpur Campus, Bengaluru. He holds a doctoral degree in Communication from the University of Hyderabad. His doctoral research examined ICT applications in disaster management in Odisha. His academic expertise includes digital storytelling, media research, and communication theory. He also specialises in media management and contemporary media practices. His research primarily addresses disaster communication, community media, and marginality. He has published research in reputed journals including Media, Culture & Society. His work has also appeared in Media Asia, indexed under Scopus Q1 and Q2. He has contributed chapters to edited volumes by Routledge and Oxford University Press. Dr Kanjilal is a recipient of UGC-JRF and Senior Research Fellowship awards. He has also received the ICSSR Travel Grant and Christ University Seed Grant. He is an active member of the International Association for Media and Communication Research. His teaching integrates critical inquiry with practical and community-oriented engagement. His work advances scholarly discussions on communication, resilience, and creative media futures.
