Dr. Venkatanarayanan Sethuraman's research focuses on social justice, constitutionalism, and electoral studies. He has studied various forms of discrimination. He was a CICOPS Fellow in 2018 at the University of Pavia, Italy. He has been invited as a resource person by prestigious institutions, including NLU's and TISS. His writings have appeared in leading publications like The Hindu and The Wire. He completed his Master's at Madras Christian College and holds an MPhil and PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He also holds a Master's in Human Rights from Pondicherry University. He previously headed the Department of Political Science at the College of Arts and Social Science, Eritrea, North-East Africa. Later, he taught at Andaman Law College, Port Blair. His current research includes Rule of Law, Race and Caste, Patriarchy in Africa and India, and Multiculturalism. He is currently the Head of the Department at Bangalore Bannerghatta Road Campus
