CHRIST (Deemed to be University) offers courses in Languages, Social Sciences, Sciences, Law, Education, Commerce and Management. Courses in Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels vary in many ways depending on the particular emphasis on Subject. Duration of the Courses vary from 1 year to 5 years. Each year is divided into two semesters or three trimesters.
Each year, Odd Semester commences in June and Even Semester commences in November. In general, a semester consists of 15 weeks of class-room teaching, i.e., 15 x 6 = 90 working days, a week for Mid Semester Examination, and 3 weeks for End Semester Examinations (ESE).
In the Undergraduate Level, subjects having Three and Four lecture hours per week will earn the student Two and Three Credits respectively on successful completion of the ESE. Subjects having Five/Six Lecture Hours/Practicals per week will earn the student Four Credits. A student can earn a maximum of 15-20 credits each semester.
In the Postgraduate level, subjects having Two, Three and Four lecture hours/practicals per week will earn the student Two, Three and Four Credits respectively on successful completion of the ESE. A student can earn a maximum of 18-25 credits each semester.
