The need for a session on “Resolving Conflicts” was identified through observation and informal interactions with students during programme activities, meetings, and peer-support engagements. Since student leaders play an important role in providing first-level support to their peers, it is essential to equip them with basic conflict resolution skills, effective communication techniques, and strategies to manage emotions. A structured session on Resolving Conflicts will help peer educators develop clarity, confidence, and responsibility while handling interpersonal challenges in a constructive manner. Fr. Ian Doulton, SDB, is a committed Salesian priest and a passionate mentor of young people. With years of pastoral and leadership experience as Rector of Salesian communities, he has dedicated his work to accompanying youth and guiding the adults and educators who support their development. He is widely recognised for his seminars on “Understanding the Teenage Brain”, a programme that integrates research insights, including his use of an interview with Dr. Frances Jensen, a leading authority on adolescent neurobiology with reflections on the challenges, characteristics, and disappointments faced by 21st-century adolescents. His seminars are both enlightening and practical, offering educators, parents, and mentors valuable tools to better understand and support young people.
