Staff Development College

CHRIST (Deemed to be University) recognizes and is committed to its role as a transformer of value education with the vision ‘Excellence and Service’. To create an appropriate learning platform for its teachers the University has established an Academic Staff College in 2011which was renamed as Staff Development College in 2020. Staff Development College conducts induction orientation, refresher and Faculty Development programs to augment the skill, knowledge and competency of faculty members.

The objectives of the Staff Development College are: 

• To create awareness of newer methodologies of learning and teaching among faculty members.
• To add knowledge as a value to our teachers.
• To enable teacher-learner to understand his/her own subject along with other subjects and knowledge at global level.
• To educate our teachers on general aspects of education and allied disciplines.
• To deliberate on research and consultancy activities and opportunities.
• To build the confidence of our teachers with strong knowledge base.
• To set and improve the educational standards at the national and international level. 

Induction programs are organized for all newly recruited faculty members of the University. In this the faculty members are introduced to the University in general with emphasis on its culture, officials, processes, practices, policies, facilities and expectations. The orientation programs are for new faculty members which highlight the various aspects of higher education, academic leadership, value education, innovative methods of teaching – learning pedagogy, etc.  The Faculty Development programs are for all faculty members, emphasizes the contemporary and applied aspects of knowledge in different disciplines leading to advancement in research and consultancy with a focus on multi-disciplinary approaches and about domain knowledge.
