About the Social Conclave
What kind of India do you imagine in the next 25 years if the current social issues get resolved? How different our everyday lives would look if every Indian had access to basic needs such as healthcare, learning, employment, and opportunities for growth?.
India is a diverse society capable of immense possibilities. The rich social fabric provides opportunities for driving inclusive growth and well-being. Yet, despite this, Indian society continues to face challenges of economic disparity, unequal access to education, healthcare, gender-based limitations in pathways to opportunities, among others. Moreover, people at the intersections of socio-political and economic marginalization are often exposed to face discrimination and systemic violence despite the policies designed to protect them.
In this context, The National Conclave: Social Science for Social Impact has been envisioned as a platform to find practical and impactful solutions to real-world problems through social science. It aims to celebrate the transformative power of social sciences in shaping a more inclusive and equitable society. India is now at crossroads where collaboration and innovation are of paramount importance.
The conclave brings together diverse stakeholders such as - scholars, policymakers, practitioners, and students to turn ideas into action. The aim is to bridge the gap between theory and practice, highlighting the growing importance of social science in driving meaningful change. It emphasizes the essential role of emerging social scientists in shaping an informed and equitable society. Through a solution-centric approach, the conclave will empower young voices, and foster interdisciplinary partnerships in order to build lasting impact and create a pathway from awareness and capacity building to meaningful action. So immerse yourself and experience this three-day conclave, journeying from understanding challenges and issues, to building skills to address them and finally taking action that leaves an impact.
The first day of the national social conclave aims to set a foundation of knowledge by exploring how social sciences can act as a catalyst for social change. Through high power panel discussions, and intergenerational interactive dialogue, participants will engage with existing social challenges and explore their interdisciplinary nature. Through knowledge and critical reflection, Day 1 aims to create awareness that inspires commitment to action.
Day 2: Capacity Building
The second day focuses on equipping participants with the toolset, and skills needed for driving meaningful change. Capacity building workshops emphasizing research, communication, and critical thinking as essential skills for addressing social challenges, along with interactions with industry experts and practitioners to gain insights into real world applications of social sciences, will open pathways to developing grounds for innovation, collaboration, and creating actionable impact.
Day 3: Implementation
The final day of the social conclave focuses on translating ideas into action. Participants will design actionable projects by bridging theory into practice, along with platforms for academic dissemination and commercial viability of innovative ideas. Through interactive competitions, and academic discussions, participants will be encouraged to apply problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration, ensuring that the learnings culminate into meaningful impact.
