Programme Overview

About the Programme

 

The programme aims to develop industry-ready Accounting and Tax professionals by honing skills in in-demand tools and techniques and standard accounting practices. The programme provides a solid theoretical foundation for critical components like Financial Reporting, Goods and Services Tax (GST), Customs Procedure, Transfer Pricing Methods and Cross Border Tax Compliance issues. The curriculum is designed to inculcate practical skills with a strong theoretical foundation to handle compliance issues with regulatory aspects.During the programme, students will also be trained for the EA (Enrolled Agent) Certification Exam offered by the Internal Revenue Service (Revenue Department) of the United States. This will enable students to pursue additional career opportunities and provide exposure to global tax practices. The training will be provided at additional cost. The students who successfully complete one year (two semesters) with the required number of credits have an option to exit the Programme, they will be awarded a Certificate/. The students who successfully complete two years (four semesters) with required credits and opt to exit the programme will be awarded an UG Diploma in Accountancy and Taxation.The Programme involves a plethora of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities which aim to hone leadership, communication and team-building skills among students.

After successfully completing six semesters and earning a B.Com (Accountancy and Taxation) degree, students may choose to progress into a specialized fourth year to achieve Honours status.

BCOM Accountancy and Taxation

Students who choose to complete the programme after three years (six semesters) will be awarded a Bachelor of Commerce (Accountancy and Taxation), providing a solid foundation for immediate entry into the workforce.

BCOM Accountancy and Taxation (Honours)

This track is designed for those aiming for leadership roles in the corporate world. It combines advanced industry learning with an intensive Corporate Internship to ensure students are fully prepared for high-level professional environments.

BCOM Accountancy and Taxation (Honours with Research)

This track focuses on Advanced Learning and Academic Research, equipping students with both Quantitative and Qualitative methodologies for high-level analysis.

Students will master the principles of corporate accounting and financial reporting, gaining the ability to prepare and interpret complex financial statements in compliance with global standards.
