About the Programme

The Master of Science Clinical Psychology programme is a dedicated, full-time two-year program offered by the Department of Psychology at CHRIST, BYC. Its primary objective is to equip students with the necessary skills to become effective scientist-practitioners in the fields of psychology and psychotherapy. This program features a structured curriculum that fosters learning through a blend of core theoretical courses, practical skill-based training,and valuable internships, all while nurturing scientific research abilities. Moreover, students are presented with opportunities to expand their knowledge in allied mental health disciplines like psychiatry and pharmacology through supplementary courses. Additionally, the program promotes the development of socially responsible citizens by encouraging engagement in community service initiatives.

 

 

 

Scientist–Practitioner Training in Psychology

The programme is designed to nurture students into competent scientist–practitioners who integrate psychological theory, empirical evidence, and clinical practice in their professional work. Students are trained to critically evaluate mental health concerns and deliver interventions grounded in scientific understanding and ethical practice.

Research Training

The curriculum emphasizes rigorous research training through coursework, supervised projects, and exposure to contemporary research methodologies in clinical psychology. Students develop competencies in scientific inquiry, data analysis, and evidence-based thinking that prepare them for both professional practice and academic advancement.

Skill-Based Training in Client and Patient Care

The programme provides intensive skill-based training to help students develop therapeutic competencies essential for working with clients and patients across diverse settings. Through supervised practice, role plays, case discussions, and internships, students learn interviewing, case conceptualization, intervention planning, and psychotherapy skills

Advanced Training in Psychological Assessment
