CHRIST (Deemed to be University) offers the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Economics through its Department of Economics. The programme is designed to produce scholars capable of conducting original, rigorous, and policy-relevant research. Our mission is two-fold. First, to prepare students to understand and resolve the numerous challenges in the economy through relevant research-based education. Second, to educate our students to become successful professionals and socially responsible citizens. To facilitate this, we have meticulously designed our undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programs.

The eclectic mix of courses offered, allows the students to capitalize on their metiers and overcome their weaknesses. In order to ensure a more applied and dynamic curriculum, we place high emphasis on dissertations, internships and data analysis training and motivate students to embrace new academic challenges to hone their critical thinking skills and enhance their competitive advantage in the job market.
