Dr. Ngaitlang Mary Tariang is a Psychiatric Social Worker, Academician, Trainer, and Researcher. She holds an MPhil and PhD in Psychiatric Social Work from NIMHANS, Bangalore. Her career began as a Psychiatric Social Work Consultant in mental health and addiction settings. She served at Spandana Hospital, the Centre for Addiction Medicine at NIMHANS, and as an Assistant Professor at CHRIST (Deemed to be University) since 2016. Since March 2023, Dr. Tariang has been an Assistant Professor at the School of Psychological Sciences. She teaches, trains, and supervises UG and PG Psychology students. Her expertise includes mental health, technology and substance addiction, cyberbullying, child and adolescent mental health, and wellbeing strategies across age groups. Dr. Tariang is a member of several professional associations and has contributed to various projects, including developing modules on technology and substance addiction with UNICEF and Kerala Police. She has trained professionals on substance use, technology abuse, and child rights. She has supervised numerous PhD, MPhil, and MSW research projects and collaborated on national studies on human trafficking and child sexual abuse awareness. Her recent achievements include coordinating initiatives between CHRIST University and the District Child Protection Unit.
