1 Due to wide range of application and diversity, fluids have always been a major area of research. A mixture of nanometer sized particles called nanoparticles, in the base fluid can be described as nanofluids. Thermal convection in nanofluids in a porous medium is an important phenomenon due to its wide ranges of applications in geophysics, food processing, petroleum industry, nuclear reactors etc. Owing to the wide range of applications of nanofluids, the proposed research is intended to study the role of the simultaneous effect of a vertical AC electric field and rotation on the onset of thermal convective instability in a horizontal rotating nanofluid layer. The effect of velocity and temperature boundary conditions are also intended to be investigated. To make the research more accurate, existing literature review based on similar topics will be done and proper formulation of the problem followed by effects of various parameters will be visualized using graphs and tables.
