Dr. Smita S. Nagouda specializes in Fluid Mechanics and Mathematical Modeling using differential equations. Her expertise extends to Numerical Analysis, Python programming, MATLAB, Scilab, and LaTex. She has been invited as a resource person for FDPs and workshops across South India. She conducted faculty orientation for mathematics professors affiliated with Vishweshwaraya Technological University and offered a 30-hour course on "Python Programming for Mathematics" at St. Mary's College, Thrissur. With over two decades of teaching and research experience, Dr. Smita contributes to academic enrichment and social initiatives. Her academic qualifications include MSc-Math, MEd, MPhil, and PhD. She strives to foster a holistic and competitive learning environment. She has guided two PhD and three MPhil scholars and is currently supervising two more PhD candidates. Dr. Smita has held numerous leadership roles at the University. She is the Coordinator for the BSc (Economics, Mathematics, Statistics) Program and served as Science Fest Coordinator from 2022 to 2024. She has been Deputy Chief and a core committee member of HED, as well as a coordinator for Social Services, Service-Learning, and Sustainable Development Goals. She co-authored a monograph titled Mathematics Using WxMaxima with Dr. Mayamma Joseph.
