Dr. Maya K is an Assistant Professor of Economics at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bannerghatta Road Campus. She holds an M.A in Economics from Calicut University (2010) and an M.Phil. in Applied Economics from the University of Madras (2014). In 2020, she earned her PhD in Econometrics from the University of Madras. Her thesis was titled "Money and Happiness: An Econometric Analysis of the Effect of Income on Life Satisfaction in India." Her research interests include Behavioural Economics, Econometrics, Gender Economics, and Development Economics. Dr. Maya is currently guiding PhD scholars and is proficient in statistical software such as STATA, EVIEWS, R, NVIVO, and SPSS. She has published in journals like Global Social Welfare, Journal of Public Affairs, and Indian Economic Journal. Her articles have also appeared in the Deccan Herald and Daily Excelsior. Dr. Maya serves as a reviewer for the Indian Journal of Public Administration (IJPA). Additionally, she is Co-Project Director for an ICSSR-funded project under the Vision Viksit Bharat@2047 initiative.
