Biogala “The Celebration of Life”, was a National Seminar Series and an Inter Collegiate Fest organised by Department of Life Sciences, CHRIST (Deemed to be University). It was a two-day event held on 11th and 12th of February 2020. The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Praveen Karanth, Professor, Centre for Ecological studies, Indian Institute of Science-Bangalore. Inaugural talk was on evolution and distribution of species, Second talk from Dr. Kumaresan, National Dairy research Institute, was on fertility issues and reproductive capability in cattles. Dr. Mathivanam Jothi, Assistant Professor, National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Bangalore spoke on cancer therapeutics. Poster presentation competition was well received with participants from more than ten colleges. The second day was filled with events among different colleges which includes Jain University, Islamiah college, St. Aloysius -Mangalore, Garden City University, Bharathi Dasan University, Dayananda Sagar University, Vijaya college, St. Joseph college and BMS college. The events conducted were Treasure Hunt, Flower arrangement, 1+1 Sketching, Marketing Genius, True Detective, JAM and Quiz, followed by cultural competition among the students of Department of Life Sciences, of CHRIST (Deemed to be University). To the end, the Overall winners were declared to be St. Joseph’s College and the runner up was won by St. Aloysius College.
