The Alumni Project Evaluation is an academic engagement initiative of the Department of Statistics and Data Science that connects students with the department’s diverse and accomplished alumni network. Distinguished alumni from different batches participate in the evaluation of student projects, providing constructive feedback and sharing perspectives on the application of academic knowledge in real-world professional settings. The interactive format encourages students to discuss their projects, seek guidance, and gain insights into the transition from postgraduate education to professional and research careers.
The initiative strengthens students’ technical, analytical, presentation, and professional skills by introducing them to industry expectations and contemporary applications of Statistics and Data Science. Alumni also provide guidance on career planning, internships, competitive examinations, higher studies, and the importance of developing proficiency in tools such as R, Python, and statistical software. Through this continued alumni–student engagement, the initiative enhances industry readiness, promotes mentorship, and strengthens students’ connection with the department’s academic and professional legacy.
