The Alumni Teaching Series is an academic enrichment initiative of the Department of Statistics and Data Science that brings accomplished alumni back into the learning environment to share their professional knowledge, industry experiences, and domain expertise with students. The series creates a meaningful connection between classroom learning and real-world applications, enabling students to understand how statistical, computational, and data-driven concepts are used across diverse professional settings.
Through interactive sessions, alumni engage students with practical examples, industry case studies, emerging trends, and problem-solving approaches drawn from their academic and professional experiences. The series provides students with exposure to career pathways, contemporary applications of Statistics and Data Science, and the skills expected in professional environments. By facilitating knowledge exchange between alumni and current students, the initiative strengthens industry–academia connect, encourages experiential learning, and inspires students to apply their disciplinary knowledge to real-world challenges.
