On the of 10th July, 2018; students from 5th semester BTech in Civil Engineering had a privilege to visit the Department of Manufacturing- Glazing and Metal Works – of M/s.Sobha Developers Ltd. situated at, Electronics city, Bengalure as part of their extra-curriculum activities.
M/s, SOBHA Glazing and Metal Works is the metal working and façade glazing division of M/s. Sobha Developers Ltd. which has an enviable portfolio of projects across industries, especiallyin Information Technology and Residential sectors. Established in the year 2000, the division is well-equipped with a state-of-art manufacturing unit in Bengaluru, India, with one lakh sq. ft area.

All products are crafted to perfection having undergone stringent quality tests. They include aluminium doors, windows, structural glazing, aluminium composite panels, Structural Steel (SS) cladding, architectural metal works and pre-engineered buildings.

During the visit, students got the opportunity to wittness how aluminium doors and windows were manufactured, the process which different structural metal members undergo, why the material aluminium as against other materials and the importance of Glass as anglazing building material.
