Dr. Prerana Srimaal earned her doctorate from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She has participated in various research projects across India and South Asia. Her work focuses on wars, genocides, displacement, and migration using material culture studies. Her research also covers urban historical narratives, gender studies, and memory politics. She critically examines how history is reconstructed in urban spaces. Dr. Srimaal leads three major projects with the ASI, ICSSR, and Indo-Korea Science and Technology Centre. These projects focus on documenting 1000 heritage sites in Bangalore. She has collaborated on a Ford Foundation project at the American University in Cairo. Her work contributes to preserving heritage and fostering sustainable futures. Currently, she is writing a two-volume book with Routledge on political dynamics, technology, and social innovation. Dr. Srimaal serves as the head of the Liberal Arts program at CHRIST University's Bannerghatta Road Campus.
