Dr. Banasmita Bora is an Assistant Professor at Christ University, Bangalore, India. She serves in the Department of International Studies, Political Science and History. Her research interests include governance, Indian politics, and election administration. She also specializes in electoral politics and peace and conflict studies. Dr. Bora holds a PhD from the University of Delhi. She completed her Masters degree at Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. Before joining Christ University, she worked with premier national institutions. These include the Election Commission of India and CSDS, Delhi. At IIIDEM, she contributed to national and international election training modules. At Lokniti, CSDS, she participated in multiple National Election Studies. She also served as an International Election Observer in Bangladesh and Thailand. Her recent work includes a case study for International IDEA. She also contributed a chapter to The Oxford Handbook of Indian Politics.
