Program Overview

The Indo–German First Year B.Tech Credit Transfer Program (CHRIST–THWS) is a prestigious international academic initiative designed to provide students with a seamless transition from CHRIST (Deemed to be University), India to Technische Hochschule Würzburg–Schweinfurt (THWS), Germany, culminating in the award of a globally recognized Bachelor of Engineering (B. Engg.) degree by THWS. Under this program, students will complete the first-year academic curriculum prescribed by the Department of Science and Humanities, School of Engineering and Technology, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), ensuring a strong foundation in engineering principles. Upon successful completion of the certification program, students who attain a minimum GPA of 3.0 with no active backlogs will be formally recommended for admission to Bachelors in Engineering (B. Eng.) at THWS, Germany, for advanced undergraduate studies in the following disciplines:

  1. Applied Polymer Engineering (B. Eng)

  2. Business and Engineering (B. Eng)

  3. Logistics (B. Eng)

  4. Mechanical Engineering (B. Eng)

  5. Mechatronics (B. Eng)

  6. Robotics (B. Eng)

  7. Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (B. Eng)

The Office of International Affairs (OIA) provides comprehensive mentorship and logistical assistance to recommended candidates, including guidance for visa processing, travel planning, and cultural acclimatization, delivered in collaboration with an authorized third-party service partner. Admission to this exclusive program is limited to 40 students per academic year, with the annual call for applications announced on the University website. This distinguished program significantly enhances students’ academic visibility and global career prospects by offering a structured pathway to international engineering education through CHRIST University’s global partnerships.

Key Highlights of the Program

  1. No Tuition Fees at THWS, Germany: Students admitted to THWS are exempt from tuition fees and are required to pay only the semester enrollment contribution, typically ranging between €100–€200, subject to annual revision by the university.
  2. Candidate Responsibilities: Participants of the program shall bear the following expenses:
    1. One-time Certification Fee payable to CHRIST (Deemed to be University)

    2. Visa processing and related documentation costs

    3. Travel, accommodation, living, health insurance, blocked amount and other personal expenses during the course of study in Germany

  3. Financial & Logistical Compliance: Candidates must fulfill all financial and logistical requirements as stipulated by the German Government and German Consulate as part of the student visa approval process.
  4. Academic Transition Timeline

    1. Students will be onboarded at THWS, Germany by the end of September

    2. The classes at THWS is scheduled to commence in the first week of October
       

  5. Degree Award: Upon successful completion of the program, the Bachelor of Engineering degree will be conferred by THWS, Germany
