Christ University Hotel Management Association (CUHMA)

The department association was renamed  CUHMA (Christ University Hotel Management Association) was formed with the intent to bring all the events and fest organized by and for the department onto one recognizable platform. It is an administrative body consisting of a group of budding individuals led by the student representatives and mentored by the faculty members of the department. CUHMA is entrusted with the responsibility of engineering the various departmental activities and composing the department’s calendar for each academic year. The flagship events of the department,the inter university hospitality test  HAT Comp and Chef Comp, renamed  Odyssey during 2017-18 and sponsored by Taj Group of Hotels, are organized by its department. Arambha and Abhikrama are the two management fests introduced by CUHMA during the academic year 2017-18, to provide a platform for student to nurture their managerial skills. Ebullience, the intra -department sports events for the students, are directed by the association as well. CUHMA also introduced “house systems” during the academic year 2017 to help regulate all internal and external events and fests that the students take part in and to promote a healthy spirit of competition among them. SW?D - a student forum that works to preserve traditional Indian culinary practices, The Sour Grapes - beverage club , Parivaar - the social welfare division of the department, iTalks which offer students the platform to interact and learn from industry professionals are all a part of the department. Several workshops are conducted by the faculty to grant students a practical understanding of their subjects . The annual Networking Dinner that offers the students of the final year showcase their skills to key industry professionals is superintended by the association as well. The association has been successful in its endeavors thus far and continues to strive towards accomplishing much more down the line to provide the students with a broader horizon of opportunities.

LDR: The Leadership Development Retreat (LDR) is a two-day event organized by the Department for the members of the Core Committee, Organizing Committee, Working Committee and the Class Representatives. The sessions and modules are conducted by faculty members and coordinators, in a fun and interactive learning setting, to provide the best of both worlds, to the students.

Conducted as a vibrant, outbound series of activities and training modules, the objective of these retreats is the honing of the innate leadership acumen and potential identified in students. It  facilitates greater networking among students while allowing them to enjoy and learn amidst rejuvenating environment.
