The C-Hive session held on 18 January 2020 introduced students to the concept of “Ghostwriting”, with a focus on ‘Corporate Ghostwriting.’ The event was hosted by Triupattaya Singh, a 2CEP B student, who welcomed the guest on stage to commence the talk.
The session began with Mr. Adarsh Nalam introducing the students to the work experience he has had with several MNC’s and specifically his decade of experience in corporate ghostwriting. He had begun his career as a junior writer in the corporate world before moving on to a corporate ghostwriting career and then finally, becoming independent as a freelance ghostwriter.  
Mr. Nalam explained that through the session, he aimed to help the students understand what ghostwriting was, why it is a viable and feasible career option, the necessary skills required in the field, and finally train them on how to build a ghostwriting profile.He elaborated on the kind of clients who availed the services of ghostwriters. He stated that companies, celebrities and lawyers often required ghostwriters to help improve their image and writing profile.
To keep the session interesting, he converted the interaction into a workshop by asking the audience to engage with him as he spoke, through writing activities. He asked that the students make a list of why they would want to be in the field of writing, or if talent mattered or skill mattered more to be a writer. The culminating task that he asked the students to do was to complete a written piece on “when a person should not ghostwrite” by the end of the session.  This helped in introducing the students to the basics of ghostwriting. Mr. Nalam kept the interaction lively with his hearty sense of humour.
He educated the crowd on the necessity of practice and why vocabulary and syntax were not necessarily the most important things in the field. Honing the craft was more important. He gave the students a rough idea of the ghostwriting process, and proceeded to conduct an interview activity with them to help them gain an idea of what questions a ghostwriter should ask. By the end, the students were happy to have learnt a lot about the field of ghostwriting.

 The session ended with a vote of thanks by Ms Mushkan Jogani of 2CEP A.
