Workshop on Qualitative Research Study and Data Analysis using NVivo

The School of Business and Management cordially invites all of you to attend knowledge packed Workshop on "Qualitative Research Study and Data Analysis using NVivo" starting from 22 March 2022 to 26 March 2022 between 09:00 AM - 12:00 PM.

Over the years, qualitative research has become increasingly popular. Qualitative research involves the collection and rigorous analysis of observations, interviews, and other records of human activity so that we can come to a richer understanding of structures, processes, and perspectives that drive or shape human behaviour. In order to ensure quality and rigour, it is essential that the researcher has an in-depth understanding of the methodology, its foundations and adopt a systematic approach to data analysis.

This workshop is designed to train researchers in qualitative research methodology, from conceptualization, through design, data collection processes, data analysis and report writing. The workshop is open to academicians and doctoral students who are interested in developing qualitative research skills and knowledge. The workshop would be conducted online.

Session Plan Includes -
Introduction to Qualitative Research, Difference between Quantitative and Qualitative Research, Ontology, Epistemology and Methodology of Qualitative Research, Research Designs in Qualitative (Narrative Research, Grounded Theory, Ethnography, Phenomenology, Case Study Research), Sampling Strategy, Qualitative Data Collection (Focus on Interviewing and Focus Group Discussion), Coding, Thematic Analysis, Introduction to NVIVO software, Developing codes, Identifying patterns in the data, Word cloud, classification of data, Writing a qualitative report.

Dr Shiji Lyndon, as the resource person for the workshop, is an OB & HRM faculty member at K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management, Mumbai. She holds a Ph.D. in leadership from the SJMSOM, IIT Bombay. From St. Gallen University, Switzerland, she holds a mixed method research certificate. She is a gold medallist and rank holder in graduation. In addition to being an Associate Editor of Journal - Business Perspectives and Research (published by SAGE, ABDC: C), she is also a reviewer for several leading journals. Also, she is an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF). She has facilitated more than 400 hours of client coaching for employees from various companies, including Schindler India Pvt Ltd, IBM, Axis bank, SAS, etc.
