Scholarly Activities

  •   Study tour to St. Albert’s College Ernakulam and Rajagiri School of Engineering, Kakkanad, Kerala for second year M. Sc. students during November 3-7, 2011.
  •   Industrial Trip to Infosys, Mysore on 12th December, 2011.Students attended talk on “Future of IT Sector”.
  •   An educational tour was arranged to Hyderabad Central University during 6-9 November 2014. An informative talk was given by Prof. S. Kumaresan, Dean,   Amarnath, Former Dean, Mr. S. Ilangovan Associate professor regarding the research methodologies in Mathematics, career options and opportunities in Mathematics.
  •   Every year 29th June on the occasion of National Statistics Day, students participating in various events conducted by the NSSO, Bengaluru
  •    Every year department takes students to study tours
  •   Department participates in Science Fest
  •   Department conducts Intercollegiate fest (Moments)
  •   Conducting crosswords, puzzles, quizzes and treasure hunt using statistical clues
  •   Statistical data analysis using Statistical Packages
  •    Lecture contests from student
  •   Lectures and career guidance from eminent professors
  •    Workshops on applications of Statistics and Statistical Packages
  • Pedagogical practices like periodic tests, assignments, seminars are conducted for students. Project, case studies, work shop etc helps the students to enhance their intellectual input.
  •   Preparation of course plan and its validation.
  •   Course plan containing schedule syllabi, CIA components, question paper pattern, references etc are provided to the students in the beginning of the semester.
  •    Periodical review of performance and absenteeism.
  •   Review and revision of the curriculum periodically.
  •   Use of moodle and other ICT.
