1.Career Guidance Activities
Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in collaboration with Career Guidance Cell have been conducting various activities toward placements of students and also for their higher studies. Students are engaged with various talks, workshops and coaching classes in this regard. The two main highlight so far are the coaching by TIME and Achiever’s Zone.

One week crash course was provided to students by TIME, in which various topics on Quantitaive Aptitude (Age, Area, Time-Distance-Speed, Profit and Loss, percentage, permutation and combinations etc), Verbal Aptitude (comprehension, rearranging the sentence, identifying the error in the sentences, synonyms, antonyms etc) and logical reasoning (number series, analogies, statement and assumptions, statement and conclusions, cause and effect, matching symbols etc) 
Personality  development and soft skills training were provided by Achievers Zone, in which various team building activities were conducted. In addition to it, students were trained on public speaking, group discussion, HR interview etc.

Apart from the coaching by external agencies like TIME and Achiever’s Zone, Department of Electronics and Communication engineering has taken several initiatives to improve the skill sets of students inclined towards their placements drive. Two hour per week is scraped out from the academic time table of final year students for placements training. They are mainly trained on the following topics: Calculus, Linear Algebra, Analog communication, Digital Communication, Network Analysis, Digital Electronics, Signals and Systems, Control System, Analog Circuits and Electromagnetics.

It is structured in the following way: 

1.One hour test one the topic mentioned above

2.Materials are shared with the students a week prior. 

3.Students are expected to go through the material and prepare for the test.

After evaluation of test paper ,aconstructive feedback is given to students on an individual basis stressing on the area of improvement. Above training caters to improve the chance of cracking the Technical Interview round.
Along with the above training, student is also trained exclusive on C-program. Since C-Programming language finds itself as basement for the various programming platform which makes it crucial for a students to have good knowledge about it. Every week one hour is dedicated for C-programming classes. They are trained in following three levels: 

1.A task is given to students for which they are required write a program having optimum number of lines/codes.
2.  A short program is displayed, for which students either have to determine the output of the program or debug it for any error.

Certificate Course on LabVIEW:
The course aims at providing some basics of LabVIEW. The course will also deals with some applications in Mechatronics and Control Engineering. The course is mainly intended for students who are in the third and fifth semester of Bachelor of Technology (All Branches).

Lesson 1: Navigating LabVIEW Course Introduction: What is LabVIEW?, Project Explorer, Parts of a Virtual Instrument, Front Panel, Block Diagram, Searching for Controls, VIs, and Functions.

Lesson 3: Troubleshooting and Debugging Vis: Correcting Broken Vis, Debugging Techniques, Error Handling.

Lesson 5: Creating and Leveraging Data Structures: Arrays, Common Array Functions, Polymorphism, Auto-Indexing, Clusters, Type Definitions.
Lesson 6: Using Decision-Making Structures: Case Structures, Event-Driven Programming, 
Lesson 7: Modularity: Understanding Modularity, Icon, Connector Panem, Documentation, Using SubVIs.
Lesson 8: Acquiring Measurements from Hardware: Measuring Fundamentals with NI DAQ Hardware, Data Acquisition in LabVIEW, Analog Input, Data Logging, Analog Output, Counters, Digital I/O, Acquiring data from Sensors Automating Non-NI Instruments, Control System related Problem Statements.
