About CHRIST (Deemed to be University)


CHRIST (Deemed to be University) was born out of the educational vision of St Kuriakose Elias Chavara, an educationalist and social reformer of the nineteenth century in South India. He founded the first Catholic indigenous congregation, Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), in 1831 which administers CHRIST (Deemed to be University).


Established in 1969 as Christ College, it undertook path-breaking initiatives in Indian higher education with the introduction of innovative and modern curricula, insistence on academic discipline, imparting of Holistic Education and adoption of global higher education practices with the support of creative and dedicated staff. The University Grants Commission (UGC) of India conferred Autonomy to Christ College in 2004 and identified it as an Institution with Potential for Excellence in 2006. In 2008 under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India, declared the institution a Deemed to be University, in the name and style of Christ University. One of the first institutions in India to be accredited in 1998 by the NAAC, and subsequently in 2004 and 2016, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) has the top grade ‘A’ in the 4-point scale.

The School of Education was established in 2006. It strives to promote high academic standards in education by creating an optimal and enriching learning environment, fostering ongoing professional and personal development thereby contributing effectively to societal needs. It acquaints students with the innovative trends and practices in the field of education. It helps them to understand the theoretical background of educational organisation and management and cultivates in them a strong research culture. The School of Education enables students to understand and apply the skill of educational technology and its approaches to teaching-learning. Value added programmes towards holistic development are facilitated through Theatre in Education, Life Skills Education, Leadership Training and Communication Skills. These programmes encourage students to consider careers and a life mission that integrates educational understanding to life. About Council for Teacher Education Foundation


The Council for Teacher Education Foundation (CTEF) is a leading professional organization in India with an International status received in 2009. The Founding President of CTEF late Dr. Gulab Chaurasia who was an eminent Educationist, a global Teacher Educator and humanitarian, established this Organization in 1985 at Bhopal with likeminded handful of Teachers and Teacher Educators. Late Dr. D.R Vij's contributions for the growth and development of CTEF India is great. Their initiatives and hard work bloomed the CTEF into a large professional organization having large network of Teachers, Educationists, Academicians, Teacher Educators, Educational Administrators, Educational Policy makers and Researchers. Every year AIRIO organizes seminars on education with varied themes and all AIRIO members are invited to participate in the seminar, thus providing a platform for them to interact with one another and discuss matters, issues related to research. AIRIO also organizes trips for experiencing new environments and enjoy a day away from the work place.

Registration for the Conference and submission of abstracts

A participant intending to present a paper in the conference should send an abstract of 250 words. On acceptance of the abstract, completed registration form and the DD towards Registration fee should reach CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Hosur Road, Bengaluru-560 029 on or before 15 November 2019, addressed to the Convenor, School of Education.

Submission of full-length paper

The full-length paper should not exceed 3000 words and should be typed in a single column, 1.5 line spacing in Time New Roman, font size 12. The right top corner of the first page should include the paper title, with author's name, postal address, telephone number and e-mail id. Please do not add a cover page for the paper. The paper must be presented by the author or the co-author.

Paper presentation is not mandatory for participation in the seminar. You can still register as a delegate.
