CSA Village visit by Mechanical and Automobile Department Faculty and Students

Topic: Upliftment of Village by Service learning working models
Faculties participated: Mr. Ivan Sunit (Mech), Mr.Benrajesh (Mech), Dr.Manjunath (Basic Science-Maths)
Students Participated : 38 students (Mech & Auto of 2nd year, 3rd year and 4th Year) includes 3 girls.
Summary of presentation
This CSA visit was done by mechanical and automobile team to understand the lifestyle of the villagers and to support them. The visit is done by 41 members which includes 38 students and 3 faculties on last Saturday (27th July). The trip started at 0130PM from kengeri and we reached there at 0230 PM. We are grateful for faculties and students, on behalf of CSA team. Their generous contribution helped us to purchase gifts for villagers and it was donated by the panchayat leader of Doddahalli.
The program details are as follows:
- Arrived village at 0230 PM
- Invited all villagers for a cleanliness training.
- Cleanliness training is done by : Miss Prakruthi (5th Sem), Mr.Shankar, Mr.Vivek and Mr.Sarvesh (7th Sem)
- Honored the Panchayat leader with a shawl, fruit basket.
- Gift distribution was done by student teams for every homes as well as final year students identified three service learning projects.
- Gift consists of a bedsheet , A bucket and a mug.
- Gift items are decided based on the necessities of the villagers.
- Evening tea served by panchayat leader in his home (05:45 PM to 06:00 PM)

It is with immense pleasure CHRIST (Deemed to be University) and FESTO announce their collaboration in the field of Industrial Automation and state of the Training.
CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Faculty of Engineering (CUFE) believes in model of learning based on ‘Learning- by-doing’ philosophy. We emphasize on experimentation, Hands-on practice of engineering based on the latest technology and industrial trends.
The FESTO training laboratories in CUFE are being architectured for creating an industrial ambience and experience for the students. The cooperation with FESTO is an initiative in that direction.
FESTO’s worldwide didactic system, with its effective application and efficient use of machines and systems in technical education, brings on board its proprietary on Mechatronics and Industrial Automation engineering systems for training and education to CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Campus. CHRIST (Deemed to be University) and FESTO has set up a ‘CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE’ for industrial Automation and engineering at CHRIST (Deemed to be University)’s’ Kengeri campus. Through this center, students, industrial persons and others engaged in the area will be able to receive state of the art training and practice in Automation and Mechatronics.

The center is envisaged to be inter-disciplinary and will benefit students from both Electrical and Mechanical streams viz. FESTO experts and CUFE’s faculty will work together to address industrial issues and problems in the field of automation and generate knowledge and ways of solving industrial problems through innovative approaches. Through this collaboration with FESTO and other such leading industrial houses, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) strives to set a new bench mark in Engineering Education and practice rendering greater value to society. Similarly FESTO would like to promote its
didactic system for the education into grass root engineering education in the country and help lead the change in teaching that is predominately theoretical to that which is primarily practice based.
