Civil Engineering discipline has impact on various sectors such as infrastructure and mining, The Department of Civil Engineering at CHRIST (Deemed to be University) has been in the forefront in the areas such as sustainability, earthquake engineering, geotechnical engineering and highway & transportation Engineering. For operational purposes the department functions as a combination of four groups: Structural, Geotechnical, Environmental &Water Resources, Disaster Management and Highway Engineering. ? Research in the areas of geophysical testing, solid waste management, and ground improvement are undertaken. Our research in the broad area of water engineering encompasses flood prediction, disaster management, climate change impacts on hydrology/water resources prediction and water quality.
