Orientation on Course Curriculum and Learning Management 2016

The first session of the Workshop of Department of International Studies and History was conducted by prof. T.S. Ramachandran, School of Business and Management, CHRIST (Deemed to be University). The Programme focused on three things – Knowledge, Skill and Attitude that are to be attained by the student at the end of the course and the level of performance that the student should be able to demonstrate at the work place. The presentation also focused on the characteristics of a good learning which included being Active, Clear, Appropriate, Achievable, Assessable by means of Internal Assessments and CIAs and Student focused which was discussed with the help of suitable examples. The other aspects that were focused in the presentation included Global/Cross Cultural Awareness and on Emotional Intelligence and Self – Awareness, Collaboration in different teams and possessing the Quantitative skills and Technology Literacy, Usage of creative methods to solve problems and other vital skills like Creative and Analytical Thinking and Strategic Thinking and Oral and Written Communication Skills. The various domains of Emotional Intelligence were also discussed in detail. Both the sessions were very informative. In the first session Sir T.S Ramachandran Has discussed as how we can change our curriculum design based on the three factors Knowledge, Skill and Attitude. He said that there is no fixed parameter to evaluate the learning outcome of the students. So, we can change it according to the requirement of the domain.


In the second session Mr. Vinay from the Department of Computer Science has talked about the Moodle.Moodle is a learning platform designed to provide educators, administrators and learners with a single robust, secure and integrated system to create personalized learning environments. This can be usedeverywhere even outside the class through electronic medium. The main purpose is to generate knowledge and transfer it to the students through various medium. The teachers can use it for Multiple Choice Questions, Assignmentsand to upload study materials which is easily accessible for the students.


On 11 November 2016, Mr. Vinay took another Workshop on Moodle to enhance our knowledge. The session was very much productive as he clarified all the doubts raised in the Workshop.
