i-Talk, an initiative undertaken by the Department of Hotel Management, commenced in the year 2015. It aims at creating a platform where students of the University are given a chance to interact with professionals from various fields in the hospitality industry. From entrepreneurs to managers, speakers, over the years, have imparted wisdom in fields ranging from tea and wines to designing and managing a restaurant. The learnings, successes and experiences of these professionals inspire students and influence them to think creatively, which is resonated in its motto - ‘Interact. Influence. Inspire.’  In any industry, network is net worth, and this is especially true for the hospitality industry. Through advice given by experts, students gain an in-depth insight into the world of hospitality and how it functions. They have a chance to enrich their industry knowledge and learn from the experiences of professionals. They acquire different perspectives and are in touch with the current trends of the industry. The talks also provide potential internship opportunities for students along with helping them obtain a clear idea of where their interests and aptitude lie. Apart from facilitating exchange of ideas, these talks help students create bonds with speakers which is an added bonus in students’ careers. ITalk is conducted twice a week.
