Hotel Management

The professional BHM course at CHRIST (Deemed to be University) aims at developing young talent for the hotel industry and build in the other strengths such that they are able to venture into allied fields too. The training program focuses on imbibing technical knowledge and skills in hotel operations. The aim of this course is to provide “a cut above the rest” man-power to the ever-growing demands of the hotel and tourism industry. The interactive method of teaching at CHRIST (Deemed to be University) is to bring about attitudinal changes to future professionals of the industry. Overview

The Department offers an accredited Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) degree designed to provide study in the core of business foundation and professional hospitality management courses and a choice of interdisciplinary elective emphases. Students in the program learn innovative concepts and practices that guide hospitality and tourism organizations in a dynamic and multi-cultural world.

The program is well structured to align students learning with regional, national, and global competencies with International academic partnership tie-ups, credit transfer systems, and focused community outreach activities.

Strong ties with employers in all sectors of hospitality, leads to a wide array of employment opportunities at the time of graduation supported by the in-house training and placement cell,  and given the length of time the program has generated graduates, many of them have entered mid and upper management positions in the industry. The department has a strong Alumni network to mentor and curate students in career choices.

As we enter 25 years of academic glory, cashing on our brand as the pioneer hotel educator in the region, the program with its sustainable partnerships with international universities provides an ideal platform for the convergence of knowledge and research in shaping future hotel and hospitality communities.

Being in the field of hospitality education for more than 25 years, our primary objective is to ensure quality education and research to match the contemporary market dynamics. With a growth mindset, our faculty, alumni and students continue to explore concepts and ideas for the next generation hospitality market. We have developed successful entrepreneurs and confident industry professionals and leaders who actively contribute to the success of the department and the industry.

Our primary objective is to inculcate hospitality knowledge and skills through continuous research and experiential learning and to transform individuals to leaders in the hospitality industry. Our focus is on research and experiential learning in the areas of hospitality operations, gastronomy and management. We look forward to create a global platform for the future hospitality leaders.

The department actively equips student with necessary skills required for the hospitality industry by organising events and activities. Our curriculum involves, theory and practice sessions along with a student operated restaurant on campus.  The programme has three internships and other activities such as SWÄ€D – promoting local food, sustainable farming practices and food produce, Parivaar – Community service and service learning, Italk – Expert talks, Masterclass – Culinary demonstrations, Cul-Art – Restaurant management club, Sour Grapes – The beverage club, UKTI (webinars) and many more, which help students work on their management and operational skills.

We are convinced that each and every student cherishes the experience on campus and thrive for amelioration each year so that the students learn and are ready to face the industry.
