Post Graduate diploma in Research (PGDR) is a yearlong full- time, certificate program. Admission to the course is based on the candidate’s performance in the relevant entrance exam, academic profile and interview. Focussing on advanced concepts of research methodology, the course aims at developing in prospective professional researchers the requisite skills for pursuing the most appropriate methodologies for research studies. A good research needs not merely conceptual capabilities, but also a thorough command of methodological strategies and techniques, including basic knowledge of computers and statistical packages. Sound expertise and versatility in research methodology enable a researcher to undertake, with confidence, research on different issues and problems, which require highly specific designs and techniques. The course is designed to impart research skills to beginners and help improve the quality of research by existing researchers. The course’s components include activities such as attending workshops, hands- on sessions with computers and software packages, reading and comprehending course material, problem- solving and assignment writing. Subjects included in the course are Foundations of Research, Methods in Research, Research writing and Research Publication. Candidates enrolled to the course are equipped to publish a research paper or author a book by themselves by the end of the course.
