The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), UK is the largest and the most widely respected professional body for those who work in the securities and investment industry in the UK and in a growing number of financial centers globally. . There are 5 international offices across the globe; in Singapore, Dubai, Mumbai, Dublin and Colombo. The CISI (Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment) is the leading professional body for securities, investment, wealth and financial planning professionals in the UK and in a growing number of financial centers globally.This program is accredited by the FSA in the United Kingdom and is linked with regulators worldwide. Investment Operations Certificate (IOC) and Wealth Management certifications of the CISI are offered to students of the Department of Commerce at CHRIST (Deemed to be University) to provide an opportunity for a professional qualification along with the Degree programme and thereby increase their global employability.
A MOU was signed with CISI on May 20, 2013. The programme has been successfully running since then. Further, on November 22, 2016, CISI awarded the University with the ‘CISI Centre of Excellence Accreditation’. This accreditation recognizes the excellence of the organization in the provision of higher education in the fields of financial services. The status is awarded to CHRIST (Deemed to be University) following three consecutive years of excellent performance, where the average annual pass mark achieved by the students meet the comparable average annual pass marks gained by the industry over the same period of time.
ABOUT THE COURSE
Special tutoring support is extended by CISI with the help of a CISI Certified Training Partners. Classes are held thrice a week after college hours and are also open to the faculty. Resources and study material are provided for the students and further reading material is available on the CISI website.
Investment Operations Certificate (IOC) is a Global Operations Qualification that provides flexibility and choice. The certification follows the local and global exam structure and offers domain expertise. Qualification comprises of three exam modules - Module 1 is offered to second year students and Modules 2 and 3 are offered to the final year students.
Module 1 – International Introduction to Investment
Module 2 – Global Security Operations
Module 3 – Risk in Financial Services
EXAM STRUCTURE
The exams are computer based and they comprise of multiple choice questions. The students require a minimum of 70% to clear the exams. Students will be given a certificate from CISI, UK upon successful completion of the each course. CHRIST (Deemed to be University) is a CISI approved examination Center. Students can take their exams within the campus.
