- MERCURIUS - THE MARKETING CLUB
Mercurius, the marketing club is an initiative of the Department of Commerce, CHRIST (Deemed to be University).As a club, we bring together some of the brightest minds, interested in exploring the ever changing dynamics of marketing. The club aims at keeping members abreast with the latest on marketing while integrating the experience of its club in charges and representatives across functions and industries such as advertising, research, sales, branding communication and digital marketing to name a few.
We strongly believe that a sound commerce education is an ideal mix of a world class curriculum and practical learning opportunities. As such, the club strives to create opportunities for members to learn by doing with academic, recruiting and networking assistance, to prepare for long, successful marketing careers.
- CLUB UDAAN- THE ENTREPRENEURSHIP
‘Udaan’- The Entrepreneurship Club was initiated in August 2014 with an objective to nourish the entrepreneurial spirit in students. The Club caters to two categories of students – 1). Those who have business ideas but do not know how to put it into action. 2). Those who want to become entrepreneurs but have no ideas and no knowledge about entrepreneurship. Udaan has four wings:
• Social Entrepreneurship
Every year, Udaan hosts its most sought after,flagship event, the ‘Inicio’
INICIO-This event is a platform to showcase the Start-Ups that have been conceived by the students of the Department of Commerce, Christ University. Through this event, the participants get an opportunity to portray their business idea, the functioning, resource procurement and marketing aspects of their business. The projects on display are either fully functional start-ups or business prototypes which will soon be launched as businesses. The objective is to provide exposure to the students with regard to the feasibility, longevity and popularity of their business. Inicio aims in making a direct connect between aspiring entrepreneurs and Venture Capitalists.
- SUYUKTI – THE ORATORY CLUB
The second series of Ex @ TedX an event organized by SUYUKTI - the Oratory Club of Department of Commerce on 24-12-2017 (Wednesday) at Mini Auditorium between 04:00-05: 30 pm had a participation of over 250 students from across our University. The event had Anto Philip, founder of Under 25 Startup Conclave.
Anto Philip spoke about his transition and journey from being a Christite from Junior College, then a B Com student and now an established entrepreneur who started Under 25 start Up Conclave. The three key messages of his lecture were, “In life, if we don’t get what we are passionate about, be passionate about what you get”. “If every day was our birthday, one would celebrate it every day. So why not celebrate every day thinking that it’s our birthday?” Because the most valuable gift that we all receive every day at the stroke of midnight is a fresh set of 24 hours to live our lives better than the day before. Every day thus becomes our rebirth day! So, celebrate it.
The credit for the foundation of what he has become today was given to each and every opportunity that Anto had exploited at Christ and the grooming which he got from faculties and his co-travelers. These four years struggle for success was well narrated with wit and humor with deep insights on how one can pursue excellence and service, which primarily is the motto that our institute stands for.
- ARTHAPRABHANDA-THE FINANCE CLUB
Arthaprabandha, the Finance Club ofthe Department of Commerce, runs with a sole objective of imparting practical knowledge about finance to students. The Club has four domains - Law and Compliance, Investors Corner, Corporate Finance and Fin-eco (Financial Economics). Relating to their domain the members conduct events for students.
Some of the events conducted this academic year are as follows-

“Stock Minds” virtual stock trading game
Arthaprabandha- The Financial Drive
